committe incharge of running the radio station from the 14th day of June
2007.
Ranet-Kenya project has
continued to work with local communities prone to adverse weather and
climate phenomena. It is in this spirit that Kangema CDF committee has
donated a room in which to put up the radio station. The process of
setting up the radio station is now advanced with acquisition of the
frequency for broadcasting.
The radio went on air on
18th may 2007 on test-run basis. The management committee from the local
community is in charge of the station until it is commissioned by KMD and
Ministry officials. The signal is able to be received within a radius of
25k. The signal is good and broadcasting is running for a few hours a day
because it is on testing stage.
Ranet-Kenya project
conducted a one week training workshop to the local committee that will be
running the radio station on management and general radio presentation and
production.
