Putting up a Weather Station
If you are interested in putting up a weather station, the Meteorological Department can provide you with the necessary technical expert skill required. However weather instruments can be bought at the equipment's shops. It is neccesary to register your station with the Kenya Meteorological Department to ensure that your station is listed on the national meteorological observation network. This will help you be able to compare your data with data with that from more than 2000 meteorological stations on the national network.
Some of the instruments listed below can be available at the Meteorological Department on request:
You will however be required to meet the basic cost of the material neccesary to make the instrument. Other types of instruments are available at equipment's shops in the market.
